Five Minute Friday: Present

presentpic

If I’m not paying attention to my life, it can slip by unnoticced.  That funny thing my little girl says, the awesome lay-up my son is attempting to show me, the question asked by my oldest daughter who usually then says, “Mom, you’re not even listening to me, are you?”  Sadly, at times, I’m not.  I’m caught up inside myself and not being present.  I can’t even count how many times I’ve  heard, “Mom, you missed it!”

God placed you in this family for a reason.  Your quirks and all.  He gave you this husband and these kids.  This house.  This story.  He sees you.  You don’t have all the desires of your heart and that’s a good thing.  God wants you to be content with what you have right now and call it good.

Don’t miss out on this amazing life.  Don’t fill your time with constant busyness.  Take some time for yourself to refresh and move towards the woman God made you to be.

Life is too short.  Be present where you are.

  1. Thanks for this gentle face-slap of a FMF post. I’ve been having a terrible week of being wrapped up in my head while driving and missing turns to even common places. This is a good reminder to be *there*, wherever there is.

  2. It’s just a light face tap 🙂 I find, especially with the Five Minute Friday posts, I’m writing and preaching to myself as well. This has been a week of distraction so when I saw the topic I immediately thought ugh… 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

  3. “You don’t have all the desires of your heart and that’s a good thing. God wants you to be content with what you have right now and call it good.” I love this! Thanks for reminding me to concentrate and what I have a moving towards who God wants me to be. Great post Cheri!
