Favorites

Here is a list of all my favorites around the web.  It is constantly being updated so please check back often.  I hope these are as encouraging to you as they are to me!

To encourage me to be a better Mom

Money Saving Mom– I could put Crystal Paine in every one of my categories!  She inspires me to be a better mom, person, and blogger.  I look forward to her Periscope’s almost every morning.  A genuine heart.

Steady Mom– Everything Jamie writes is wonderful and encouraging. She is not updating this site anymore but there are so many encouraging posts in the archives.

Andrea Dekker – Andrea is so practical and down to earth.  Plus, I love, love her farmhouse!  I do get a little fangirly since she lives the next town over from me too.  Just sayin’.

To inspire me to be a better person

Momastery – Glennon Doyle Melton is one of my faves!  I was so geeked out when I met her awhile back.  She is truly genuine and humble.  Love Wins.

Stone Soup for Five – Kari Denker writes the most wonderful Bible Studies called Journal and Doodle**.  I have bean so inspired by these and it makes my bible study time so rich and rewarding.

Becoming Minimalist– Joshua Becker is a man who is after the heart of God and living with less.  He has inspired me to de-own and live simply.  His book for teens (I loved it as well), Living with Less, really made an impact on my young teen.  My little pack rat has de-cluttered her room and her life and this book was the inspiration

Susan Cain – Susan’s book, Quiet, was a game changer for me. She has taught me that being an introvert is really okay.  The world needs people like us.  People who need to shut out the constant noise in order to really engage in life.  Powerful.

Brene Brown– author and shame researcher.  She is all about living with your whole heart – highly, highly recommend her books, Daring Greatly (every parent should read this) and Gifts of Imperfection.

Gretchen Rubin– I have gleaned so much inspiration from her book, The Happiness Project Happier at Home, and my new favorite, Better Than Before.

To encourage me to live a healthier life

Trim Healthy Mama – I love this way of eating and nutrition!  Truly a gem.

Heavenly Homemakers– Laura is funny and real.  She has great (and easy) whole food recipes.  One of the first blogs I followed years ago.

Whole9Life – Everyone needs to try a Whole30. I learned a great deal about how I react to certain foods. It’s free but I would recommend starting with the book, It Starts With Food– it’s been an invaluable resource on our health journey.

To help me on my homeschooling journey

Teaching from Rest– This is hands down the #1 resource I would suggest for ALL homeschoolers!  Sarah MacKenzie is such a gifted writer with practical ideas that will inspire you and your kids!  I also love her membership site, the Read Aloud Revival**.

Your Morning Basket** by Pam Barhill- such a gentle introduction into Morning Time and a wealth of resources!  I don’t listen to podcasts usually (I am a visual learner), but Pam’s podcasts are wonderful and informative.  Worth your time.

Simple Homeschool –  there’s a wealth of great information from a great number of homeschool bloggers.  Do not miss this site if you are a homeschooler!

Notebooking Pages– we use notebooking pages for a few of our subjects. So much that we bought the Treasury Membership*.  There are a lot of free-printables and individual sets available as well, but if you use notebooking regularly the Treasury Membership* is definitely worth the cost.  Great resource!

The Home Scholar – Lee Binz helps take the stress out of homeschooling high school.  There is a wealth of information regarding grading, credits, and transcripts.  Her free webinar Homeschooling High School is a great place to start.  I would suggest starting to look towards high school at around 7th grade.

To help me rest

My new obsession is doodling and handwriting.  These are all helping me on my journey towards a bit of peace in my soul:

CreativLEI – love, love Lisa’s 30 day FREE handwriting course- so fun and relaxing.

Creative Doodling and Beyond – such a fun book to start doodling.

Stone Soup for Five – I know I mentioned Kari above already.  She has really helped me to find my inner doodler and fill my bible study time with so much thought and creativity.

To inspire me to be a better writer, blogger, and doer

Goins Writer– Jeff Goins is part of the reason this blog has been brought back to life.  Bookmark his site, follow him on Twitter, do it all because he will inspire you and give you the confidence you need to be a writer.  I went through his TribeWriter* program in January 2013 and found such awesome teaching and support from other members (I’m working my way through it again in 2016 along with his Intentional Blog Course). The course only opens up once every 3 months- you can go here* to get on the list. It has truly been nothing but a blessing!

Money Making Mom – I love, love Crystal Paine’s book on working as a Mom.  This book inspired me to really follow my dreams.  Again, she fits in almost every category I have listed.
